MilkPEP Offers Free Milk Vending Seminar on July 25
Washington, D.C., July 8, 2002 - To help milk companies and vending operators tap into the potential vending has to grow the milk industry, the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) is offering a one-day seminar on Thursday, July 25, 2002, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The free meeting is being held as part of the milk campaign's Fluid Milk Strategic Thinking Initiative (FMSTI), and in conjunction with the American School Food Service Association's (ASFSA) Annual National Conference.
This is the second in a series of regional vending seminars MilkPEP will be holding throughout the country. A seminar in Myrtle Beach, S.C., was held earlier this year in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Expo, a vending trade show sponsored by the Automatic Merchandising Associations of the Carolinas and Virginia. That meeting received a top rating from more than 90 percent of the meeting's attendees.
MilkPEP's vending seminars are designed to bring together milk processors, vending operators, vending machine manufacturers and the National Dairy Council's state and regional organizations to network and discuss the fundamentals of how to pursue and implement milk vending programs. Morning sessions are processor-focused, and the afternoon sessions are geared for both processors and vending operators.
The seminars highlight the results of two successful vending studies conducted in schools and businesses. Attendees also learn about how to go to market, what types of vending machines could be used, and obstacles and expectations. The meetings also provide model marketing plans that processors can tailor to meet their specific business needs.
FMSTI is planning future vending seminars in conjunction with foodservice and vending trade shows. To find out more about future seminar dates and locations, processors can log on to
